IRB: E-file assessments early to avoid congestion -TheStar Tuesday March 8, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: Taxpayers can begin filing their income tax assessment forms for 2010 through e-filing for individuals and employers.

They could do this by going to https://e.hasil.gov.my or click on its official website www.hasil.gov.my, Inland Revenue Board public relations officer Masrun Maslim said in a statement yesterday.

“To avoid any online congestion, we urge taxpayers to submit their tax forms early and not wait until the last minute on April 30,” he said.

If there are any additional tax to be paid, it should be paid by the deadline, otherwise, late penalty payment would be imposed, he said.

He also reminded taxpayers to provide accurate information and declare the right income tax amount while keeping supporting documents for up to seven years for audit purposes.
